Father John J McCarthy Council was founded in 1999 through the efforts of several Catholic Gentlemen in the Blessed Sacrament Parish. It is named after Father John J. McCarthy, the first priest at Blessed Sacrament. The Father John J. McCarthy Council works closely with the Blessed Sacramnet Parish and the surrounding Charleston community, providing funds and participation in many projects.
